michael jackson

I am sad.
Sad for Michael Jackson.
I grew up with him, I can remember listening to my mom's cassette tapes of Billie Jean on one side and Beat It on the other in our tiny apartment in New Jersey. It must have been 1988 or 89.
I rocked out to Black or White in elementary school.

I've been sad for him for a long time, bc he always looked so unhappy.
He must have been one of the loneliest people in the world.
I am sad bc we lost such an amazing talent. The world has never seen anything like him.

I hope he is at peace and happy now.

Blogs.

Blogs.
And Life.
Those are the two things I'm thinking about. Somehow related, and sometimes not.

Blogs.
I was reading one of my favorite blogs yesterday, that I hadn't read in a while, and I realized how boring mine is. Blogs by nature are vain things.... or can be. I am guilty of this... I cringe when I recall how I recently wrote a long and rambling blog of all the ridiculous romantic drama I had in Italy. I hope none of you saw that... I apologize if you did! I have a tendency to just put it all out there on the internet sometimes, which is good because I believe in full disclosure (I was censored for many years), but bad because sometimes, I'm sure you really don't want to know about the issues I had with my mother a year ago.
I love reading my friends' blogs about weddings and babies and teaching and such. It's a great way of keeping up with their lives, since most of them live far away and it's been a long time since we've seen each other (so keep writing!). I started my blog a couple years ago, for the same reason, but also because I generally have something to say. Some of you might find this funny because I frequently just post song lyrics. It's a bad habit, I know.... that's when you know I'm upset, when I do that, because I don't have the words to say it myself. Anyway, But I will try to be better about that. People start blogs for different reasons, but we all want them to be interesting. I need to better about this- Note to Self: no more lyrics, be interesting. Got it.

Here's a list of blogs that I love:

Speaking of.... what do you think of Myspace lately? I don't like it anymore. I kind of want to delete mine. Also, I refuse to get a Twitter.

Life.
Hmm... well I'm obviously back in America. Suck. But I'm managing to have a good time. Hanging out with friends more, and it's more fun. (Seems kind of obvious... but... sometimes the little things are the hardest to realize. Ha.)
I now spend my days just working, missing Firenze/wondering if I will ever hear from a certain someone about the thing I mailed him (probably not), hanging with Yuli (the dog), going to workout class and being with my friends. Also not eating well/being poor (they go hand in hand).
It's weird being here by myself. I've always associated this town with my mother, and now she's gone, and I'm not. I don't really know how I feel about that.
Moved in with my friend, hooray. Perks include a sweet house, within walking distance of work, and the most adorable dog ever. Will post pics later. But you should know I love him! and we're friends.
OH. Decided not to go to grad school. At least, not for this fall. There were so many little things that were telling me that it wasn't the right thing for me right now, and I finally listened. I acutally feel much better about it now, much lighter. I didn't want to admit it because I worked so hard on getting in, but sometimes (well, all the time really) you have to listen to your gut.
So, I'm going to teach english in Italy (Florence) or China. But I'm not sure which one yet. Being abroad is the best thing for me right now.
ok, I have to go work on being more interesting now. And eat some lunch.
